Getting things done is not the same as making progress.
Progress comes when the boxes you check off your long to-do list are the right ones, the ones that actually move you toward the goal. Otherwise, you’re getting plenty of motion, churning, without getting anywhere.
Step one is knowing the goal. Step two is knowing what the crucial path to get there.
Progress comes when you keep the crucial path as the priority. Otherwise, you’re just running in place.
