In every company, there are two departments that don’t show up on the flow chart. One is in charge of saying yes and the other is in charge of saying no.
You don’t get assigned to these departments by HR. You may not have realized you were even in one of them. (And maybe you aren’t. You could be in the biggest and most boring department of all – the Department of Maybe, which just waits to be told what to do.)
The Department of Go is full of ideas and chases after new opportunities constantly. On the other end of the curve, the Department of No operates from fear and struggles to maintain the status quo.
Choose wisely.

So true, so true! When I started at my last company, I was told by the head of the department, you are not allowed to say no to the departments you work with. You can say "Yes, but" or, "ok, if you do this", but never say no. Go figure my department got pulled into the process early as we were never a hinderance to the other cogs in the wheel!
